Edusoft has conducted an intensive 3-month accent reduction pilot program from September-November 2008 at Bluefield's Indian and Caribbean University (BICU), Nicaragua. This Blended Learning solution included multimedia software, supplementary materials and extensive teacher training and support, all fully customized to meet the needs of BICU teachers and students.
BBVA, based in Spain is one of Europe's largest banks with branches in 30 countries and 112,000 employees. BBVA decided that its English learning program should be standardized and delivered through the BBVA Learning Management System. In order to comply with BBVA management's commitment to its personnel to provide the English learning system by a certain date, the solution had to be installed and deployed under a very tight schedule. Another factor to take into account was the need to create an effective and scalable Blended Learning solution while maintaining the same training budget from previous years and increase number of trained employees.
With over 300 tutors, Higher Learning supplies additional English language classes to both primary and secondary level schools in Indonesia. In order to improve its market position and to attract new clients, Higher Learning looked for a new learning curriculum that would be both visually stimulating and appropriate in terms of content. The challenges included integration of the new material with existing classes and curricula, training a large number of tutors in Blended Learning methodologies and providing tutors with pedagogical support in the classroom - all cost-effective.
Kiryat Malachi is a rural Israeli town with a high percentage of recent immigrants. Teaching English as a foreign language is especially challenging when even the regular language isn't necessarily what students are speaking at home. A Blended Learning model is proving effective in a high school pilot program, which may soon be implemented in other schools across the country.
Universidad Technologica de Panama is in Panama City. It has 16,000 students. 10,000 students are situated on the main campus in the city, and there are another 6,000 students on regional campuses around Panama.
Nagasaki Junshin Catholic University is a government-run college of between 6,000 to 7,000 students. In order to graduate successfully, students are required to achieve a credit in English.
